What is Laya Yoga?

LAYA YOGA is a yoga that focuses on meditative concentration of the chakras. Chakras are similar to lotus flowers.
According to the ancient teachings of Laya Yoga, it is customary to treat each chakra as a rich imaginary world that includes several symbols: one of the earth elements (fire, water, earth or air), a sound, a color and a geometric shape.
For example, in the Heart the animal is the Antelope, the earth element is Air, the mantra is “ yang, ” the color is green, and the shape is the Star of David.
Mantras are the magical sounds of the ancient language of Sanskrit. This combination of symbols helps to break away from the everyday patterns of thinking and enter deep relaxation.
Sounds, in addition to symbols, are an effective bridge to quick and deep relaxation, which is why it is important to use the chakra soundtrack when studying Laya yoga.
Laya Yoga helps us overcome challenges...
What is a challenge?
A challenge will be different according to the age of a child.
For a four year old, it' s when someone takes away their favorite toy. For an 8 year old, it' s when he doesn ’t have friends at school.
At 12 years old, it could be a difficult teacher at school or a problem in their circle of friends, or even an unsolved situation from childhood.
To uncover our inner power, we need to take a few minutes before bedtime to imagine our animals, say goodnight to them, and check how they are all feeling... and this guide will teach you how!
How can Laya yoga help in a challenging moment?
If a child is weak after being sick, he can feel the red color of his wise grey Elephant, who whispers valuable advice to him. When he imagines his own wise grey elephant, he brings out his own strength and energy. The elephant is one of the symbols of our inner strength.
If a child is feeling uninspired and he doesn ’t have any ideas for a certain project in school, he should ask for advice from the orange chakra of the mysterious Dolphin, one of the symbols that addresses our creativity. The dolphin can then send him a wave of creativity, and things seem more interesting to him.
If a child is angry about something, wants to calm down, and cannot, in his imagination, he can pet his wild yellow Ram, one of the symbols that addresses our aggression. That way, he can calm himself down just as he tames his own Ram.
If a child is upset about something, he can ask for advice from the green chakra of the loving Antelope, right away feeling her unconditional love. This way, he won ’t feel so lonely anymore.
If child is feeling shy, he can imagine his cute baby Elephant flying in his blue sky and wishing him lightness. Everything in the cosmos of the elephant is light and weightless. This image gives a child a way to visualize the situation and apply it to his life!
A child is feeling unsure and doesn ’t know what to do, he can take advice from the beautiful Peacock of intuition. Our purple peacock teaches us that we already have the true answer inside of us and we won 't be dependent on the opinions of others.
When a child is sad or in a bad mood, he can imagine 1000 white petals of the lotus flower are opening to take in a lot of light so that he can funnel it into himself when he is in a dark moment.
